The man accused of killing a California police officer who has links to Fiji has been arrested.
Ronil Singh from Naitata in Navua was shot dead in the line of duty in California in the US on Wednesday.
Gustavo Perez Arriaga who has been accused of the crime was in the US illegally and had two prior arrests for driving while intoxicated.
US media report that he has gang affiliations.
Singh pulled over the attacker as part of a drunken driving investigation.
Singh went to the US to fulfill his dream of becoming a Police officer.
The 33‑year‑old had a newborn son and joined the 12‑officer Newman Police Force in 2011.
At a news conference, Singh's younger brother, Reggie wept as he thanked enforcement officers for arresting the man accused of killing his brother.
