“The best piece of advice I have been given is to play for your family, that’s all the motivation I need.”

These were the words of Fiji born, England wing Joe Cokanasiga while sharing the story of his journey leading up to his debut for the England 15’s team.

Cokanasiga says that the first time he put the England shirt on was away in France for the U18s adding that he just couldn’t believe it was happening.

He says that the after donning the U18 England jersey, he wanted more, he felt a sense of pride and playing U20’s made him hungrier to get that senior cap.

Cokanasiga also acknowledged his Fijian heritage adding that being Fijian and being around Fijians one already knows about rugby before they play it.

Cokanasiga is set to be out of action until the new year and faces a battle to prove his fitness for the Six Nations after his Premiership Club, Bath confirmed he has suffered a torn medial knee ligament.
