Three fire trucks and necessary equipment were quickly deployed to the 10 storey Ro Lalabalavu House in Suva as the National Fire Authority received a report of fire in one of the top levels of the building.
NFA’s CEO Manasa Lesuma says the fire is believed to have started from a wall mounted TV in the meeting room of Level 9.
All the people in the building were evacuated after 11am today.

He says the fire was extinguished through the sprinkler which was activated as soon as the fire started. Lesuma says the firefighters also arrived quickly at the scene.
The extent of damage is unclear at the moment.
