The Land Transport Authority has clarified that they are not aware of any impending fare increase for minibus services around the country.

LTA confirmed this to Fijivillage following concerns received that Minibus Operators have issued notices that they will increase fares in some of their routes from the 1st of next month.

A man from Lautoka who wished to remain anonymous says that a a minibus operator had notices on their vehicles that fares between Ba and Lautoka will increase to $2.50 from next month.

The current fare is $2.00.

People have also raised concerns regarding the matter as fuel prices have just recently been reduced.

LTA reiterates that there have been no discussions on the proposed increase in fares for minibus operators.
