Jerry Tuwai is the rock and heartbeat of the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team and where he leads, his team follows.

This was highlighted by Coach Gareth Baber who particularly praised Tuwai’s brilliant performance in the Hamilton 7's

Speaking from Sydney this morning, Baber says that Tuwai put up an outstanding performance over the weekend with an unstoppable display by the team to retain their title in Hamilton.

When questioned about Tuwai’s performance after giving up the captaincy role, Baber says that Tuwai has over the years reinvented the way he plays and he is capable of winning at any tournament.

Baber also stresses that the former captain continued to showcase his humility on and off the field.

Tuwai was the Player of the Final in Hamilton.

Going into this weekend, Baber says they are getting more difficult to score against, which is great.

Fiji’s ruthless in attack and offloading skills will be something to expect in Sydney.

Fiji will face Japan in their first pool match at 12.34pm Saturday and meet England at 6pm while Fiji will play their last pool game against Samoa at 10pm Saturday.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 1.16pm Sunday, the semifinals start at 5.16pm while the final will start at 9.56pm Sunday.
