USA 7's team captain Madison Hughes says it is upsetting that they have not won any tournaments this season despite playing the final of the first three rounds this season.
Speaking to World Rugby 7s, Hughes says they have lost an asset in Perry Baker but now it is about looking forward for to the rest of the season.
He also commended the way Fiji plays.
Coach Mike Friday is confident the loss of Baker will not stop his side from being contenders at the Sydney Sevens.
The speedster, who won back‑to‑back World Player of the Year awards in the last two seasons, broke his jaw in Hamiton.
USA is pooled with Canada, Kenya and France for the Sydney 7s.
