Weightlifting Fiji President Atma Maharaj says the trials for the 2019 International Weightlifting Federation Junior Weightlifting Championships is open to all those that want to take part.
This also includes athletes from Levuka who had earlier signed a Petition to boycott a number of international events following the removal of Joeli Vueti from the position of National Coach of Weightlifting Fiji in May last year.
Maharaj says they will accept those who want to join.
400 athletes and officials from over 50 countries will converge in Suva from 1st to 8th June for the International Weightlifting Federation Junior Weightlifting Championships.
This is the first time a country from the Pacific Region will be hosting a World Weightlifting Championship competition.
It will be held at the newly renovated Vodafone Arena which will be the first International Event at the venue after renovations.
