Former Lautoka soccer team player Cory Chettleburgh says he has been made aware of accusations made against Vodafone Fiji Soccer team coach Christophe Gamel and says he finds them completely slanderous.
Chettleburgh who played for Lautoka in last season’s OFC Champions League, says throughout his time working with Gamel, he not only found him to be a coach of exceptional standard but a person of exceptional character as well.
He says he witnessed nothing but a coach who is extremely passionate about giving every footballer the chance to improve and reach their goals adding Gamel was willing to go above and beyond to help any player or person who asked him for advice or help.
Chettleburgh says during his time playing football, he has worked with some top coaches and he holds Gamel in as high regard as any.

He adds Gamel is totally committed to helping Fijian football reach the pinnacle of football and is constantly working and planning on how he can do this to the best of his ability.
Chettleburgh says there is no doubt Gamel will try and squeeze every bit of talent and ability out of his players, adding Gamel like every coach has his own way of tackling the challenge that is getting the best out of teams and individuals.
He says not once did he witness Gamel be anything but fair and respectful of his players when delivering his coaching ideas.
Chettleburgh says Gamel in his eyes is one of the best coach's in the Oceania confederation and Fiji are extremely lucky to be able to call him their national team coach.
