The Fiji Sugar Corporation will be carrying out repair works on their 335 staff quarters during the next non cane crushing season.
This is after Fijivillage has noticed some of the FSC staff quarters that have been around for quite sometime now, need a lot of maintenance work.
The corporation says they have allocated a budget for maintenance this year and upgrading works will be done progressively in each mill area this off‑season.
The next cane crushing season begins between May to July and may last for 5 - 6 months.
The corporation says refurbishment like painting and repairing work will be carried out progressively during the current non‑crushing season.
FSC says that this refurbishment will continue progressively over the next three years.
FSC says that the crushing seasons and the non-crushing seasons are tentative.
