A major challenge the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team will have to deal with this week in preparation for the Las Vegas 7s is the cold and snowy weather there.

Last Friday, schools in Las Vegas were closed due to the snow and freezing conditions.

But over the weekend temperatures improved in Las Vegas to about 7 degrees celsius.

Coach Gareth Baber says he has seen the snow in Las Vegas at the moment and has contacted organisers to ask what that would mean for the training pitches.

The team will be able to test out the pitch in their training session against France tomorrow.

In the Las Vegas 7s last year, the Fiji 7s team was beaten 19-7 by USA in the semifinal.

Fiji then went on to finish third while USA won the Las Vegas 7s last year.

Fiji will face Scotland in their first match of Las Vegas 7s at 11.22am next Saturday, they will then face Wales at 2.23pm on the same day. They will then face Australia at 7.52am next Sunday.
