The body of a man in his late 20s has been recovered from the Navua River this morning.

Police say the man was swept away by strong currents while swimming near the Beqa Jetty with others yesterday afternoon.

He was found after Police continued with search efforts this morning.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
