The Vodafone Ba soccer team still has a chance to qualify for the quarterfinals of the OFC Champions League after they drew their second group match one all against Erakor Golden Star in Vanuatu.
Ba was trailing one nil before veteran Avinesh Suwamy equalized in the 81st minute. A loss in the game would have seen Ba being knocked out of the competition.
Ba goalkeeper Misiwani Nairube saved a late penalty that was crucial for the Ba team earning the one point.
Erakor had also missed a penalty early in the second half.
The Men in Black side will now need to beat Kiwi FC by as many goals as they can in their final group match and hope that Erakor loses to Team Wellington.
Ba will play Kiwi FC at 3pm on Friday.
