Kieran Read will miss the original deadline set for his comeback for the Crusaders.
It has now been revealed that the All Blacks captain may not play until the Crusaders meet the Hurricanes in round‑seven in Wellington on March 29th.
Read will also soon announce what overseas club he will join after the World Cup.
It has also been confirmed that wing Manasa Mataele has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The Crusaders will face the Chiefs at 4.15pm Saturday.
The Blues will meet the Sunwolves at 6.35pm while the Reds will take on the Waratahs at 8.45pm Saturday.
The Hurricanes will meet the Highlanders at 6.35pm Friday while the Rebels will take on the Brumbies at 8.45pm.
On Sunday, the Lions will meet the Jaguares at 1.05am and the Bulls will take on the Sharks at 3.15am.
