National Security and Defence Council Director General Timoci Natuva has highlighted that with satellite technology, Fiji will be able to get real time imagery of troops on the ground.

While making their submissions to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs on the Ministry of Defense and National Security 2016 Bi-Annual Report, Natuva revealed that this kind of technology would have been a great help to Fiji during the capturing of Fijian troops in 2017.

Natuva says the system can also be used to give Fiji imagery of our coral reefs for the past 20 years.

Natuva revealed that the sharing of information between the Ministry and the Fiji Police Force is also done more effectively now.

He says this was made possible after the recruitment of 24 staff members who are from the Navy, the police force as well as from the army.
