The Tailevu Zone Athletics meet will continue this morning at the National Stadium with defending boys champion Ratu Kadavulevu School currently leading the boys division and Tailevu North College proving competitive in the girls division.

The finals of the 1500 meters events were held at the RKS ground yesterday along with the Triple Jump, High Jump and Javelin.

RKS is leading the boys division with 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, Wainibuka Secondary School is in second place with 1 gold while QVS is third with 1 silver and 2 bronze.

Meanwhile, in the girls division Tailevu North leads with 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze, Dawasamu Secondary School is in second place with 2 gold and two silver while Naiyala Secondary School is in third place with 1 gold and 3 silver.

Tailevu North team manager Kelerayani Smith says that they are aiming to win more gold from the field events and also from their Junior and Intermediate boys and girls short distance track events.

Smith says the aim is to continue the momentum from yesterday and finally topple girls defending champion Dawasamu Secondary School.

Day two of the Tailevu Zone will be begin at 8.30am at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
