Thousands of people living in most of the elevated areas in Suva and Nasinu have been facing water supply disruptions since yesterday.

Water Authority of Fiji says this is due to a burst main which they have been unable to repair due to unfavourable weather conditions as well as concern for their workers safety.

The burst main near Waila treatment plant has resulted in low water levels in the Tovata and Wainibuku, Nagatugatu, Tacirua, Dokanaisuva and Colo-i-Suva reservoirs.

The reservoirs are currently being refilled.

Water Authority says water supply should normalise from 6am tomorrow.
