The trial of the 38‑year‑old man who is alleged to have raped a 3‑year‑old girl will take place from the 8th to the 10th of next month.
He is alleged to have committed the offence at a Day Care Center in Suva on the 31st of August last year.
The man was a handyman at the school and he is charged with a count of rape.
The matter was reported by the girl’s mother after she found out about the alleged incident.
DPP lawyer Lavenia Bogitini informed the court today the state will be calling five witnesses.
She has also stated that they will be using the child room for the victim to give evidence.
Bogitini told the court that the child can construct simple sentences.
