New Zealand Deputy High Commissioner to Fiji, Halia Haddad says that the reaction from the Fijian government in regards to the detention of the three journalists from New Zealand has been very efficient from the moment the government became aware of it.

Haddad says government has also issued an apology for the circumstances in which the three journalists were detained.

She says that they were very pleased with the way the situation was handled.

Haddad adds that the New Zealand High Commission’s role in this was to make arrangements for lawyers for the three being detained as well as making sure they were being treated well.
