A heavy rain warning is in force for Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki as well as Yasawa, Mamanuca group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
There is also a heavy rain alert in force for the rest of Viti Levu, Lomaiviti and Lau group.
The rain is being brought by a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain to the west of Fiji.
The Nadi Weather Office says it is expected to affect Fiji until next Tuesday.
