Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday received the 2019 Sustainable Development Leadership Award from the Director General of The Energy & Resources Institute Ajay Mathur.
While receiving the award, Bainimarama welcomed the Indian delegation to Fiji and thanked Mathur for giving him the award in person.
Bainimarama told Mathur that organizations like theirs, and leaders like him, are exactly who they need in their “grand coalition” in order to really move the needle and make a difference for the sake of the planet’s future.
People like former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh, top Hollywood actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and United Nations Secretary‑General Ban‑ki‑Moon have won the award.
