Solomon Alaimalo returns from injury and has been named to start at fullback, with Tumua Manu shifting back to start at centre.

Nathan Harris is set to start at hooker with lock Michael Allardice named to skipper the Chiefs team, as Brodie Retallick has been given his enforced All Blacks rest.

Halfback Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi and veteran Stephen Donald return for the Chiefs named on the bench.

Chiefs coach Cooper says tomorrow’s Super Rugby match is crucial in his side working their way back into the competition.

The last time the Hurricanes played the Chiefs in round five last month, they drew 23‑23 at FMG Stadium in Hamilton.

The Hurricanes will meet the Chiefs at 7.35pm tomorrow.

Meanwhile, tonight the Crusaders will take on the Lions at 7.35pm while the Sunwolves will host the Highlanders at 10pm.
