Health officials in the US are warning about kissing bugs which are anything but romantic.

NBC News reports the bugs have been given the nickname because they often bite peoples faces after being attracted by their breath.

Kissing bugs carry a parasite that can cause a silent deadly disease which can lead to heart problems years later.

It is usually found indoors — in cracks or holes — or outdoors in concrete, under tree bark and in dog houses.
