High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar has raised concern on the late filing of information and disclosures.
He says this has become a trend with cases of rape and sexual offences.
He raised concerns this morning to State Prosecutor Swastika Sharma when she was making an appearance in the case of a 62-year-old man who is charged with the rape of his biological daughter.
Justice Goundar raised concern as Sharma had sought 14 days to file information and disclosures because state was trying to locate an eyewitness in the case.
Sharma was asked by Justice Goundar to relay the message to the Director of Public Prosecution on the concerns that he had raised.
Meanwhile, Defence lawyer Lavenia David told the court today that the accused is having difficulty in trying to get surety for his bail application.
The 62-year-old is charged with 2 counts of rape.
The alleged incidents occurred on the 4th and the 9th of November last year in Lami.
The victim in the case was 15-years-old at the time of the offence.
The matter has been adjourned to the 6th of May for a plea to be taken.
