England completed their World Cup preparations with a nine‑wicket thrashing of Afghanistan at The Oval.
On the ground where they will open the tournament against South Africa on Friday the hosts dismissed Afghanistan for 160, then chased the target in only 17.3 overs.
England captain Eoin Morgan says that it was ruthless coming into the game they were well aware of how dangerous and capable Afghanistan are but right from the opening over until the end they performed as well as they have done.
