Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji Ariff Ali will be presenting an update on the Fijian Economy highlighting the role of the construction Industry, during the 2019 Construction Industry Council Conference.
Ali, who will be leading a discussion titled, “The construction industry represents the building blocks of an economy”,says that the construction industry plays a key role in any economy as it is a major driver for economic growth and employment.
He highlighted that the construction industry also has important linkages with other sectors such as transportation and wholesale and retail trade adding that the industry’s contributions to the GDP and economic development goes beyond its direct influence through construction activity.
Ali also plans to discuss challenges that the industry is currently facing.
The 2019 Construction Industry Council Conference will be held from the 13th to the 15th of June at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
