Fiji now has eight professionals who hold international certification on how to deliver, assess and validate technical and vocational education training programmes.

This is a development that is expected to boost the quality of learning in the country.

The eight are part of the group of 21 regional participants who successfully completed the International Skills Training which was organised by the Educational Quality and Assessment Programme.

The International Skills Training was delivered by APTC National Trainer , Raj Kapoor.

Course participants had to complete several assessment activities in order to earn the certificate.

Parneet Singh who is the Fiji National University’s Manager Programme Design and Standards says this was the first time he was exposed to the whole package which was how to plan, deliver, assess and quality assure assessment results.

The second training for 2019 will be organised later this year and it will focus on quality audit and will be a continuation of the training held last year.
