Amateur boxer, Zoheb Ali is aiming for a gold medal for Fiji at the Pacific Games next month.

Ali will be participating in the 52kg category and will be representing Fiji for the first time.

He says he took up boxing because it is an individual sport where they have to perform and not depend on others.

Ali who is a Police Officer says his preparations have been going well and he is ready to represent Fiji.

The 22-year-old boxer is from Lovu, Lautoka and attended Drasa Secondary School.

The Pacific Games will be held from the 7th to the 20th of July in Samoa.

Fiji will be participating in 26 sports.
