Three municipal council workers have been charged for theft by Police after coins were allegedly found in their shoes and office drawers.
One of the people charged was an auditor and while another was a booking officer. They were caught during a spot check by the Council's Financial Controller.
Police say the auditor was allegedly found with $258 worth of coins hidden in both of his shoes.
The booking officer was allegedly found with more than $135 worth of coins hidden in his office drawer and shoes.
Police say another worker was also allegedly found with foreign and local coins inside his pocket and office drawer.
They will be produced in the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow.
