Fiji Airways Flying Fijians coach, John McKee feels that everything is slotting into place as they prepare to head to Japan in the hope of achieving quarter‑final qualification for the first time since 2007.

Speaking after their 29-19 win against Tonga on Saturday, McKee stated that they knew that playing against Tonga will be physical but their defence during the game was at another level.

He says they have been working hard on their phase defence and also on their goal line defence which paid off on Saturday.

He adds that players also made some good individual tackling in the game but they need to brush up on few areas when executing the ball which was evident in the first‑half of the game.

Flying Fijians captain, Dominiko Waqaniburotu says that he was happy with the win but they need to work hard if they want to achieve their goal at the Rugby World Cup.

The Flying Fijians team will be presenting their i-tatau at State House today and they are expected to leave for Japan on Friday.

Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales, Georgia and Uruguay.

Fiji will take on the Wallabies in the first pool match at 4.45pm Saturday 21st of this month.
