Former Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef has been further remanded in custody.
The matter was called before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili for the bail hearing today but the prosecution did not file any bail response to Lateef’s new bail application.
They have been given time till Friday to respond to the new bail application.
In this latest case where Lateef was denied bail, he is facing a count each of being found in possession of illicit drugs and breach of bail.
On the 17th of July this year, Lateef was granted bail by the Magistrates Court and a month later he allegedly re-offended.
He was allegedly found with 0.0063 grams of methamphetamine at his Nailuva Road home on the 14th of last month.
This is the fifth case where Lateef has been charged and produced in court for possession of illicit drugs.
He was bailed in the previous four cases.
