While making the announcement, Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says there are approximately 400,000 voters who are still carrying the old voter card.

Saneem says the Fijian Elections Office will use this opportunity to update the details of the voters in their system.

The new version of the voter card will have the address of the voter and the polling venue details of the voter printed on it.

Saneem has also advised the voters who had registered in 2012 or 2013 to update their card with a current photo.

He says the replacement of the new voter card is free of charge service and voters will be required to complete a form to receive the new voter card.

Saneem says the FEO will soon be conducting a nationwide drive to allow people from remote and rural areas to update their voter cards.
