Two children have died in two separate unfortunate incidents which could have been avoided.
Police say the first accident occurred on Friday in Yalalevu, Ba where a 1-year-old girl died after a vehicle driven by a relative reversed and ran over her.
She was rushed to the Ba Hospital but she was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
The second incident occurred in Vuna, Taveuni yesterday afternoon.
The 12-year-old boy allegedly tried to jump onto the back of the truck while the driver was reversing.
Police say the boy slipped and was trapped under the vehicle.
He passed away at the Taveuni Hospital.
Police confirm investigations into alleged negligence will also be looked into and both drivers will be questioned.
