Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says that by October 2021, every Fijian will have a National ID Card.
Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted this while speaking at the World Bank Regional Workshop on Use Cases for Digital ID in the Pacific.
He says this is to make things easier so that people do not have to remember the multiplicity of numbers.
Sayed-Khaiyum says this will also help government in managing the distribution of resources.
He says that this ID system will also be used by banks.
