Six people from Naqelewai village in Naitasiri appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court this afternoon for swearing at fellow villagers on New Year’s Day.
21-year-old Josaia Raique, 27-year-old Lemeki Senijale, 50-year-old Sakeo Tuilovoni, 22-year-old Josefa Sogonivunivalu, 25-year-old Josaia Nabure and 35-year-old Sakeo Tuilovoni have pleaded guilty to a count of common nuisance.
The court was told that the six men had consumed home brew.
They have been handed a bound over sentence and will have to pay a fine of $500 if they re-offend in the next three years.
