The case of Yavala Baravilala who allegedly bit off his defacto partner’s ears in Sukanaivalu Road, Nabua on Sunday has been transferred to the Suva High Court.
He has been charged with four counts of act with intent to cause grievous harm and a count of resisting arrest.
The court was informed that the 31-year-old has three other pending cases in court.
Baravilala has been remanded in custody.
The woman is still in the hospital
He has requested for legal aid assistance.
Police say the alleged incident occurred during an argument and the two were believed to be intoxicated.
The case will be called again on the 22nd of this month.
