Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s Coach Saiasi Fuli says the new format which will be introduced at the Hamilton 7s makes it even harder for teams to qualify to the semi-final.
He says they are optimistic about their chances and will try to win every game in order to make it to the knockout stages.
Fuli says he is aware that they are in the same pool as defending champions New Zealand which makes qualification even more difficult but says nothing is impossible.
He says there are a few injuries which they are assessing at the moment but adds that there won’t be much changes to the side that played in the Dubai and Cape Town 7s.
Fuli says some players in the team need more game time, which will given to them at the Coral Coast 7s next week to prove themselves.
The Fijiana take on England in their first pool match at 9.58pm on the 25th of this month before taking on China in their second pool match at 3.36pm on the same day.
They will take on hosts New Zealand in their last pool match at 9.35pm on the 26th of this month.
