The Chiefs have payback on their minds going into their Super Rugby season opener against the Blues tonight.
The team admits they are still "gutted" and "hurt" by the defeat to Blues last year which snapped a competition-record unbeaten streak between two sides.
From June 2011 to May 2019, the Chiefs had gone 15 games without losing to the Blues, until the 23-8 defeat in Auckland put an end to that proud run.
New Chiefs coach, Warren Gatland says he knows the players are pretty gutted about last year as that was the first defeat in a long time against the Blues.
The Chiefs will face the Blues at 6.05 tonight while the Brumbies will meet the Reds at 8.15pm.
In tomorrow’s matches, the Sharks will play the Bulls at 5.10am, the Sunwolves will play the Rebels at 3.45pm and the Crusaders will take on the Waratahs at 6.05pm. On Sunday, the Stormers will host the Hurricanes at 1.05am and the Jaguares will face the Lions at 11am.
