The Fijian Latui are gearing up for an exciting year with the Global Rapid Rugby Competition to kick start on the 14th of March in Suva.

Fiji Rugby Union CEO, John O’Connor says the Latui are looking forward to participating in the new format Global Rapid Rugby, which provides a further opportunity for the local-based players to experience the professional rugby environment.

O’Connor says the extended squad for the Latui has been working hard in the off-season, readying themselves for the campaign and he believes they will be highly competitive in the competition.

Global Rapid Rugby today unveiled the exciting China Lions as the sixth and final team in its inaugural home-and-away competition.

Teams that will be participating in this year’s competition are the China Lions, China Tigers, Western Force, Malaysia Valke, Fijian Latui and Manuma Samoa.

Global Rapid Rugby CEO, Mark Evans, described the inclusion of China as ‘crucial’ to the long-term development of rugby throughout Asia.
