Concerns have been raised by residents of Nadawa that they have no place to top-up their e-transport cards in the heavily populated area.

Nadawa residents say that there were two or three shops in the area that were servicing them but they have suddenly stopped recharging the bus cards.

They say when they asked the shopkeeper on the reason why they stopped providing the service, the shopkeeper told them that they were not making enough profit from providing the service.

The shopkeeper claimed that they are receiving 4 cents from every $2 recharge being sold.

Meanwhile, Vodafone Fiji says they cannot stop a trader from ceasing their services in providing e-ticketing recharge to people.

Vodafone says it will be looking at other alternative ways for people to access the services if their community shops are not providing e-ticketing recharge services.
