A family from Lauwaki settlement in Lautoka has lost four loved ones in a horrific road accident in Velovelo, Lautoka at around 2:30 this afternoon.
A family member Sameem Mohammed confirmed that his 45 year old uncle, 38 year old aunty, along with their 19 and 21 year old daughters died in the accident.
Mohammed said his uncle who was market vendor at Lautoka market is survived by their twin 13 year old girls and 22 year old son.
According to Mohammed the family was returning home from shopping when the accident occurred.
Deputy Director Police Operations Erami Raibe has again stressed for motorists to take extra care on the roads due to the current wet and slippery conditions.
The road death toll now stands at 34 compared to 44 for the same period las year.
