A six year old handicapped boy is the latest drowning victim after he was found floating in Rewa yesterday.
According to Police, the young boy's body was floating about 100 metres away from his house in the Toga River.
He was taken to the Nausori health Centre but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are looking into the matter.
Meanwhile, in another case, a 54 year old woman drowned in Navakawau Village in Taveuni while at sea.
Police say that she went to have a bath with her sister on Friday and drowned.
The drowning toll now stands at 7 compared to 8 for the same period last year.
