Close to 500 families who are genuinely facing financial difficulties in paying off their remaining balances on their home loan will be assisted under the Social Housing Policy this year.
This will mean that these families will either have their remaining balances on their home loan accounts completely written off or a part of the loan will be written off.
Housing Authority Chief Executive, Alipate Naiorosui said they will review the figures later in the year.
Under the housing loan rehabilitation policy only those customers will be assisted who are finding difficulty to meet their loan repayments due to retirement, sickness, unemployment and disability.
It will target customers who have paid more than twice the principle loan amount.
