Vanuatu Prime Minister Sato Kilman this morning traditionally acknowledged the Fijian government for approval to establish a Vanuatu High Commission in Suva.
Kilman formally thanked and presented to Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama a “Magiti”, kava and traditional Vanuatu mats outside Government buildings in Suva.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Police Force has signed the Bilateral agreement on regional security with their Vanuatu counterparts.
Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said this will see the Fiji Police force providing assistance in areas of police training to Vanuatu.
This follows the police conference last week where the Vanuatu police force had requested for assistance in training after they were showcased the operations of the Fiji Police Force.
Also endorsed from the MSG meeting yesterday was the establishment of a Regional Police Academy.
The signing took place between Fiji’s Police Commissioner Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua , Vanuatu’s Acting Police commissioner Job Esau, Chief of Protocol Emosi Rakai and Senior Defence Ministry official Joji Washington along with Assistant Police Commissioner Isikeli Ligairi.
