The price of potatoes has decreased.

The Chief Executive Officer of Commerce Commission, Bobby Maharaj said the current market prices in Viti Levu ranges from $1.61 to $2.25 a kilogram.

He said the reason for the decrease in price is due to the decrease in landed cost which is the import price of potatoes.

However, he said it should be noted that with effect from Tuesday 29 March, the Commission is not approving any prices higher than the maximum price of $1.61 and prices higher than $1.61 is for only existing stock that was purchased prior to Tuesday.
