Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Iowane Naivalarua said he is changing and improving the Fiji Police Force, which is not about militarization.
Today while addressing senior officers at a morning tea in honor of the completion of his one year of service as a police officer he said the Force is to serve the people of Fiji with better focus, cohesiveness and effectiveness.
He told the officers that his ways and approach could be different from their former leaders but it’s about changing things and making it better and doing things that need to be done.
The Police Commissioner assured the officers that it’s not about the militarization of the Force, if they have that in mind and have some reservations about him.
He called on colleagues and fellow officers not to be discouraged if the demand from him is quite high. He told the officers that they should be inspired if they are asked to do things better.
