Quick action from the fire fighters saved a bus from completely burning after it caught fire in Tavua this morning.
According to NFA, passengers saw smoke inside the bus and told the driver who stopped the bus and got all the passengers out immediately near Rabulu Village.
NFA was called who extinguished the fire that started from a tyre.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Meanwhile about 60 passengers in Labasa are counting their lucky stars after they successfully escaped from a burning bus this morning.
According to police, at around 9.30 the driver of the bus saw the rear right tyre on fire and stopped the bus near FSC.
The passengers got off and the driver brought some water and with assistance of a fire extinguisher, the fire was put out.
NFA suspects mechanical problem to be the cause of both incidents however investigations are underway.
