A unanimous guilty verdict was handed down by the three assessors in relation to a murder trial at the Suva High court this morning.

The three assessors found Eparama Nume, Joveci Naka guilty of two counts of murder and Apenisa Lino guilty of one count of accessory after the fact to murder.

This is in relation to the death of a couple, Ashok Chand and Mohini Lata of Valelevu in December 2009.

Presiding judge, Justice Priyantha Fernando made a lengthy summing up today and acknowledged the assessors for bearing with the court during the long trial.

He will sentence the three next Monday at 2.30pm and remanded them in custody.

The bodies of the couple were discovered by police in their soap factory home in Valelevu in December 2009.
