A twin cab vehicle and an Elisa machine to the value of $150,000 were handed over to the National Laboratory Mataika House by AusAID this morning.
AusAID Fiji Health Sector Support Program Director Dr Rosalina Sa’aga-Banuve said the assets are to improve the capacity of the National Laboratory to conduct disease surveillance and improve their ability to respond to outbreaks.
Mataika House is pivotal in the identification and management of disease outbreaks in Fiji and is the World Health Organization’s accredited level 2 measles reference laboratory for the region.
