The Digicel Fiji Sevens coaches have admitted that the players got carried away with the win in Hong Kong and lost focus in Japan.
We posed the question to assistant coach Etuate Waqa on why the Fiji Sevens team failed to win the Japan Sevens title after winning in style in Hong Kong.
Head coach Alifereti Dere added they are also addressing the player burnout issue.
He said this is their main weakness where the players have not been looking after themselves, and this leads to inconsistency.
Meanwhile, Nemani Nagusa has been ruled out of the next leg of the IRB Sevens series.
Nagusa did not join the National Sevens training squad and has opted out of the Scotland and England Sevens.
The Scotland Sevens will kick off on the 6th of next month.
