The defense counsel for the former chairman of Post Fiji Limited, Mahendra Patel has today asked the High Court for time to file a response in relation for the case to be tried in Patel's absence.
In the last court sitting, Hamendra Nagin informed the Court that Patel is still overseas and needs constant supervision, as per his doctor's advice and latest medical report.
The case will be called on the 8th of May.
Patel, Peni Mau and Dhirendra Pratap are charged with Abuse of Office, Extortion, Aiding and abetting abuse of office and one false certificate by public office.
